Summer Book Club

Summer is an exciting opportunity to break free from the books traditionally required by schools. If you want to nourish or rediscover your love for reading—this is the class for you.

Students will read a novel and critically analyze it together. Sessions will be spent discussing texts with peers and their instructor.

Students will…

  • Learn how to get more out of their reading
  • Practice engaging in meaningful group discussions with peers
  • Gain methods to prepare for discussions
  • Explore different mediums and genres
  • Hone ideas through brief written responses

Students will be provided with a copy of the course novel. Students will complete a creative project of their choice to demonstrate their understanding of the course’s texts. Students will be able to meet with their instructor for two individual sessions and receive guidance on their project.

At the end of the course, students will celebrate the completion of the novel and their projects alongside classmates with a party including food!
