About Us
Our Story
University Tutoring has provided one-to-one tutoring services since 1979 when we first opened our doors in Seattle’s Laurelhurst neighborhood. We are a locally owned business and proud members of our community. For over four decades we have worked with thousands of students from Seattle and beyond.
In 2013 Chris and Michelle Schaber took over operations. Chris has been one of our tutors since 2004 and still spends much of his time working with students. Michelle uses her expertise as an educator to advise and drive the overall direction of University Tutoring. The couple also proudly owns and operates another neighborhood business, University Wines.
Our Philosophy
At University Tutoring we believe all students are capable learners. We work closely with each individual to design a tutoring program that takes into consideration specific objectives, learning style, schedule, and unique needs.
Our Tutors
We meticulously select our tutors based on knowledge in subject matter and experience teaching students of different levels and learning styles. In addition to content expertise, our tutors are chosen for their patience, adaptability and attention to detail.
